Stephen Fry & Hamlet! The Musical

The ubiquitous Mr Stephen Fry graced VOICEOVERSOHO with his ebullient presence for the frankly remarkable Hamlet the Musical, yes Hamlet the MUSICAL! We were stoked to have the Lord of Tweet himself in the area. He's truly one of the good guys.

VOICEOVERSOHO went on to work on the Soundtrack for this hilarious production, Hamlet! The Musical's. Verily t'was a lark!The CD, mastered by VOICEOVERSOHO is now available in the iTunes Store.

Jonathan Ross

The wonderful, nay marvellous Mr Jonathan Ross cruised into VOICEOVERSOHO for a session on the illustrious history of The Cannes Festival and what a top bloke he is too!

Nice one Wossy, we're lovin' the quite wemawkable new show. Wespect!

Brian Blessed

Fee-Fi-Fo-Fum! Mr Brian Blessed in the flesh stomps into VOICEOVERSOHO last week top voice the Giant for the fabulous family pantomime Jack & The Beanstalk at the Gala Theatre in Durham. He was very, very, very, loud and we loved him! A true Giant among mere mortals!

The Testament of Sherlock Holmes

VOICEOVERSOHO has just completed major work for The Testament of Sherlock Holmes, the new video game for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC platforms.

Firstly VOICEOVERSOHO cast over 20 major characters and a multitude of smaller parts for the game. Then commenced the recording of over 40,000 words with a brilliant cast of talented actors, directed by our very own Peter Morris. On the completion of the recording process began the arduous task of post production, producing over 5,000 individual files, edited and mastered for the game's engine, finally producing a depth of characterisation as yet unheard in the gaming world.

From the dirty streets of Whitechapel to the notorious Newgate prison, Holmes and Watson delve into a dark underworld full of devious and colourful characters. The graphic engine developed for The Testament of Sherlock Holmes illustrates Holmes and Watson's environments in an incredibly detailed way never seen before. Graphics aside, the storyline is immensely complex and 'aspiring detectives' will have their hands full in solving this intriguing mystery!

The Testament of Sherlock Holmes will be released on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC early 2012.

Alan Ford aka Brick Top

It's only the main bleedin' Bacardi Breezer, Brick Top from Snatch aka Alan Ford. He also featured in Lock Stock & Two Smoking Barrels and soon stars in his latest movie Cockneys Vs. Zombies. He came in to VOICEOVERSOHO to bring Canny to life for Waste Paper Bastards, an animated series currently in production.

So keep your Mince Pies peeled, it's the Dogs!

Marcus Brigstocke

The mustachioed Marcus Brigstocke, ready for the night as Perks in the Railway Children, steamed into VOICEOVERSOHO to narrate the new ITV3 series A-Z of Crime.

He was also preparing to introduce the 7th Annual Crime Writers' Dagger Awards.

Torchwood and John Barrowman

The fabulous John Barrowman came into VOICEOVERSOHO to record the narration for 'The Making of Miracle Day'.

Miracle Day is the fourth series of the Doctor Who spin-off series Torchwood. The central plot of Miracle Day is that suddenly no one on Earth can die, which incites increasingly troublesome legislative changes around the world as the global population soars.

So You Think You Can Dance with Cat Deeley

The gorgeous Cat Deeley breezed into VOICEOVERSOHO for a couple of episodes of the Hit American Series 'So You Think You Can Dance' for FOX. I bet she looks good on the dancefloor!

Caroline Quentin

Men Behaving Badly & Jonathan Creek star, the delightful Caroline Quentin graced VOICEOVERSOHO today for a New Series of ITV's Ten Mile Menu, yummy.

Griff Rhys Jones

The excellent Griff Rhys Jones, comedian, actor, presenter and all round Good Egg came into VOICEOVERSOHO recently. Jones came to fame for shows like 'Not the Nine O'Clock News' and 'Alas Smith and Jones' along with his long-time comedy partner Mel Smith.

First he extolled us with the virtues of Pembroke, marvellous. Then Jones came back for another session to present The Australian River Foundation Awards.

Alison Steadman

Truly wonderful Alison Steadman came into VOICEOVERSOHO to voice a character for a new late-night animation 'Homesick' written by Sarah Kennedy, who famously wrote Crapston Villas in the mid-90s.

Steadman has appeared in many films, including Shirley Valentine, The Adventures of Baron Munchausen, Confetti, Clockwise, P'tang, Yang, Kipperbang, Wilt, A Private Function, Life Is Sweet and Topsy Turvy.

Adrian Dunbar

The brilliant Adrian Dunbar in session today. Dunbar has appeared in such notable films as My Left Foot, The Crying Game, and The General. He has also had leading roles in the films Triggermen, Shooters, How Harry Became A Tree (with Colm Meaney), Richard III, and Widows' Peak.

He came in to VOICEOVERSOHO to narrate a documentary about the most bombed hotel in the world, Belfast's Europa Hotel, explosive!

Dexter Fletcher

Topman Dexter Fletcher and the Flubit guys at VOICEOVERSOHO recording for the phenomena that is Flubit. Dexter is probably best known for his roles in Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels, Kick-Ass, The Elephant Man & Topsy Turvy.

Dexter has recently written and directed his debut feature film the brilliant 'Wild Bill' now on general release. He gave us a sneak preview, it's a must see Independent British movie. Congratulations to Dexter and the cast.

Professor Brian Cox

Star of BBC's Wonders Of The Universe, Professor Brian Cox expanded our view of the Universe & Vintage Synths today. In 1993 Cox joined D:Ream, who had several hits in the UK Music charts, including the number one, "Things Can Only Get Better", later used as a New Labour election anthem. He's a Starman waiting in the sky!

Tom Courtenay

The wonderful Tom Courtenay came in to VOICEOVERSOHO today. He came to prominence in the early 60s with a succession of films including The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner (1962), Billy Liar (1963), and Dr. Zhivago (1965). Since the mid-1960s he has been known primarily for his work in the theatre. Courtenay received a knighthood in February 2001 for forty years' service to cinema and theatre.

Tom Courtenay came in today to read Larkin's 'Bridge for the Living' to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the Humber Bridge.

Sarah Jane Adventures Video Game

VOICEOVERSOHO records the voices for the Sarah Jane Adventures video game featuring the voices of Daniel Anthony as Clyde Langer, Rachel Petdladwala as Agent Rose & Charlene Osuagwu as Agent Carrie. It was a pleasure to work with such a talented cast. This new, exciting game is designed to teach children the wonders of science. It's the new rock'n'roll, according to Professor Brian Cox!

The Wettest County ADR

Great new work today at VOICEOVERSOHO recording ADR for the Hollywood film "The Wettest County in the World" written by Nick Cave. The cast is incredible and features Tom Hardy, Shia LaBeouf, Gary Oldman, Guy Pearce and among others.

During Prohibition, a moonshine gang operates in the bootlegging capital of America, Franklin County, Virginia. The three brothers eventually are shot down in December 1930 after they refuse to join the illegal cartel set up by the Commonwealth's attorney Carter Lee. In cinemas December 2011, go check it out.

Tony Robinson

Another day, another legend at VOICEOVERSOHOIn the studio today with Baldrick. Yes, Baldrick from Blackadder, a.k.a. Tony Robinson.

This time Tony was more in his Time Team guise for his new show The History of Australia. It was not only great working with him but he even promised to sign my Blackadder commemorative turnip!

Bernard Hill

It was our great pleasure and a true honour to record the legendary actor Bernard Hill this week in VOICEOVERSOHO, probably best known for roles like the Captain of the ship in Titanic & King Theoden in The Lord of the Rings Trilogy. Truly a great actor and a great guy.

Bernard came in to record a narration for a brilliant new short entitled 'Wraith', directed by up and coming director Tom Walsh.

Zane Lowe

It was totally awesome to have Radio 1's main man, Zane Lowe, in VOICEOVERSOHO. Zane Lowe is the embodiment of a music enthusiast. In a career that’s seen him emigrate from New Zealand through the US to England, from MTV 2, via XFM to a week night slot on Radio 1, Lowe is one of the most influential and recognisable figures in modern music. With a schizophrenic yet encyclopaedic musical perspective, he jumps from rock star to raver with a flick of the crossfader.

Zane came in to record a commercial for The Streets' kickin' new album 'Computers & Blues'.

David Walliams

David Walliams came in to record a promotion for his new book Billionaire Boy. The story of Joe. He's rich. And we mean, really rich. He's got his own bowling alley, his own cinema and an orang utan for a butler! But what he doesn't have is a friend... So when Joe's family starts to get money worries for the first ever time, who is he going to be able to count on? This brilliant book from the author of Mr Stink is a great read for anyone who loves Roald Dahl or Frank Cottrell Boyce.

Sir Stirling Moss

It is not everyday that you can say that you have a bona fide legend in the studio but at VOICEOVERSOHO over the last few weeks it truly has been the case. Arguably the greatest all round racing driver of all time and a true icon of the motor racing world. Out of the 529 competitive races he entered during his professtional racing career, he won an astonishing 212 until a near-fatal accident at Goodwood in 1962 ended it all.

We've been working on a new series of 52 minute films, GREAT GRAND PRIX RACING HEROES currently being produced by Brunswick Films. This new series traces the careers of 12 of Formula one's heroes, including World Champions, Sir Jackie Stewart, Niki Lauda, James Hunt, Emerson Fittipaldi, Mario Andretti, Mika Hakkinen, as well as the legendary Enzo Ferrari. The stories of these great men are all narrated by Mr Motor Racing himself, Stirling.

Rolf Harris

Well stone my didgeridoo and break out the wobbleboards! You'll never believe who we have had in the studio this week. None other than the Australian Colusus that is Rolf Harris came in to VOICEOVERSOHO. Rolf is not only a household name in Britain with songs like Jake the Peg and Tie Me Kangaroo Down Sport but was also commissioned to paint the Queen!

We were lucky enough to have the ever so charming TV presenter Gloria Hunniford in VOICEOVERSOHO to promote the "Race for Life" event. Race for Life, is Cancer Research UK's flagship event, with over 230 events taking place across the UK. WORD! Not happy with having one of Britain's greatest thesps at VOICEOVERSOHO, this week we've had one of the hottest actors in America, (although he is actually from Hackney, East London), none other than Idris Elba, star of 'The Wire'. Idris plays Stringer Bell, Drug Kingpin and developer of the mobster underworld but today he was recording very hush hush material for one of the most happening Black American TV Channels coming soon...With lots of appearances on UK shows such as 'Absolutely Fabulous', '2point4 children', 'Silent Witness' and US shows; 'Law & Order', 'CSI Miami', 'The Office' and also featuring in '28 Weeks Later', 'American Gangster', 'RocknRolla' and 'The Unborn', this makes Idris one of London's hottest rising Stars.

Don Black & Sir Tim Rice

Two legends in the music industry came to VOICEOVERSOHO to record an interview with Mark Steyn, Eric Breindel Award Winner and author of the best seller America Alone. Disney Legend and three time Academy Award winner Sir TIm Rice is famous for collaborations with Andrew Loyd Webber, Benny & Bjorn from ABBA, Elton John and has won every other award under the sun. Don Black also an Oscar winner is such an intrinsic part of the film, theatre and music industry it's hard to tell where one ends and another starts. Having written two of James Bonds best ever theme songs; 'Diamonds are Forever', featuring Shirley Bassey, 'The Man with the Golden Gun', featuring Lulu and who could forget 'Ben' for the late great Micheal Jackson.

Jane Horrocks star of 'Little Voice' and 'The Corpse Bride' became a household name when she starred as Bubbles in BBC comedy 'Absolutely Fabulous'.

Bob Geldof

A highlight of recent sessions at VOICEOVERSOHO was definitely the presence of the great Irish singer, songwriter, actor and political activist Bob Geldof who became famous as a member of the rock band The Boomtown Rats. His achievements include organising thee phenominal Live Aid and Live 8 concerts. Geldof's most notable compositions include "Rat Trap" and "I Don't Like Mondays". He also starred as Pink in Pink Floyd's 1982 film The Wall directed by Alan Parker.

Bob was recording a Voiceover for an animated version of himself promoting Group Call Alert which is a comprehensive emergency contact service for schools, the public sector and businesses enabling you to contact thousands of people instantly in any emergency.

Gillian Anderson

EXPOSES ARMANI IN SHOCKING NEW VIDEO

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, with more than 2 million members and supporters, is the largest animal rights organization in the world. Giorgio Armani has been promising to go fur-free and then reneging on the idea altogether in order to make rabbit-fur outfits for babies.

Hearing this loud and clear, A-list actress and compassionate PETA friend Gillian Anderson really came through to lend her support to this issue. Recorded at VOICEOVERSOHO her voice can now be heard narrating a shocking, moving investigation video that takes you into the depths of rabbit fur farming.

The video was unveiled earlier today at a news conference outside Armani's Michigan Avenue store in Chicago. I strongly encourage you to watch this video and pledge to be fur-free. Gillian, PETA, and all the rabbits of the world will thank you for it.
